Ice fishing to be exact, which feels appropriate with ...the cooler temperatures abounding in the lower 48 & weather forecasts projecting snow soon. Our back drop highlights the same, snow, but to a higher degree & intensity. You'll see plentiful pike flowing from this ice hole, keeping the pace, while giving the RW 100 a workout for a grand finale.

I'm not a person that enjoys the heat per se, I thrive more in the colder climates! Temperatures above 65 aren't my gig, I'd rather be wearing layers & ...my boots! That being said, we're still in the summer time frame, at the tail end of Summer 2025 to be exact. Sticking with the theme of summer & with Alone Season 12 just wrapping up in Africa, I wanted to post this quick video of my recent travel to a hot spot where I experimented with our friend the cactus. Usually we try to avoid going near cactus, but in a survival situation you might be surprised at how useful this prickly statue can be when in need.

Being on a hiatus while deep in the remote Alaskan Bush, I finally am just now able to peek through my past expedition footage. While doing so, I came ...across this tantalizing cooking footage that was recorded as I sat & rested my body one evening at camp while pondering life's biggest questions. Maybe it was the mountainous beauty surrounding camp that evening or just that the planets had aligned correctly at that exact moment, either way the end result from the frying pan that night at camp was pure serendipity.

I'll let you be the judge as you watch & take in this new recipe being unveiled from Bush Alaska USA. Could these Caribou Caterpillar Chews be just as organic & wild as the Zombie Grasshoppers or maybe just as ballsy as the Bear Testicles were? Check out the links below, if you dare to compare!

On a lofty mountain ridge, set high above a river bed, grew so many mushrooms the human eye couldn't fathom them all. Some were perfectly formed & stood out ...tall while others were so oddly shaped you almost missed them when the willows would blow.

This latest reel comes while out scouting in scenic AK. While taking a break the incredible amount of mushrooms intrigued me so that they just couldn't be overlooked. Pairing them with steak later on at camp was a chef's delight & went far to replenish the day's calorie expenditure, mission accomplished!
